If you think your car has one screen too many, you haven't seen the cockpit of the new Porsche Cayenne Electric. Set to debut later this year, Porsche's latest electric SUV is making a bold statement by turning its interior into a command centre dominated by displays, redefining what it means to have a "connected" driving experience.
At the heart of the new "Porsche Digital Interaction" concept is the Flow Display-a curved OLED screen that is the largest ever fitted in a Porsche. But that's just the start. Drivers get a fully digital 14.25-inch instrument cluster, while an optional 14.9-inch screen awaits the front passenger for entertainment. For the ultimate in augmented reality, an available head-up display projects an effective 87-inch image onto the windshield.
"For gadget freaks and tech enthusiasts, this is a dream come true. For those who find modern car interiors overwhelming, you might want to steer clear"
The cabin isn't all about pixels, however. Porsche has significantly enhanced comfort and personalization. The model features electrically adjustable rear seats as standard, new "Mood Modes" that orchestrate lighting and climate, and surface heating that warms armrests and door panels. With 13 interior colour combinations and new material choices, the level of customization is unprecedented for the Cayenne line.
