AMG GT XX Concept: 1,360-hp electric storm is brewing in Affalterbach

The future of electric performance just got a German accent. Mercedes-AMG unveiled the GT XX Concept, a four-door electric coupe with 1,360 hp that sets new standards for hyper-EVs. With three axial flux motors, 800V architecture, and charging speeds that add 400 kilometers of range in just five minutes, the GT XX is AMG's boldest technological statement since the Project One hypercar.
Developed with Mercedes-AMG High Performance Powertrains (HPP) F1 technology, the GT XX features revolutionary YASA axial flux motors that are three times more power-dense than conventional units. The rear axle alone houses dual motors that produce over 1,000 kW, and a front "booster" motor kicks in for all-wheel-drive launches. AMG claims a top speed beyond 360 km/h and consistent performance thanks to direct oil cooling of the battery cells, which keeps them cool even under intense use.
The GT XX is more than just a concept car; it's also a test bed for the AMG Electric Architecture (AMG.EA), set to debut in 2026. If the technology performs as expected, competitors such as the Porsche Taycan Turbo GT and the Lucid Air Sapphire may need to watch their backs.
