Since its 2023 debut, the Jeep Avenger has received 200,000 orders worldwide, becoming Stellantis’ unlikely hero in Europe’s B-SUV segment. However, while the brand touts its 'off-road spirit', prospective buyers should think twice before attempting anything rougher than a gravel driveway.
The 4xe model - complete with a limited edition of 4,806 units in collaboration with The North Face - adds all-wheel drive, though its 19.8 cm ground clearance and street-biased tyres suggest urban adventures are its true forte.
"This isn't a Wrangler, and that's the point," said analyst Maria Lopez. 'Stellantis is trading Rubicon cred for café cred - and it's working.'
Although Jeep boasts the Avenger’s Selec-Terrain system and hill-descent control, its front-wheel drive (FWD)-based all-wheel drive (AWD) system and lack of low-range gearing make it better suited to ski trips than rock crawling.
