Where did all the fun go? EVs need more soul for car enthusiasts!

Let's be honest - driving just doesn't feel the same as it did 20 or 30 years ago. Somewhere between climate targets and touchscreen dashboards, we lost something special - fun.

In the past, we had cars that made you want to take the long way home. Cars like the BMW Z3 with its sexy curves and rear-wheel drive. The MG-F, with its mid-engine layout and raw charm. The Fiat Barchetta, the Peugeot 206 CC and the Opel Tigra... Even the more affordable cars made us grin from ear to ear.

Now? We're all stuck in silent city pods that resemble recycled iPads on wheels. Plastic SUVs with fake exhausts, lifeless steering and more software updates than driving feel. Don't get us wrong - EVs are the future - but they don't have to be this boring.

Where's the spirit? Where’s the emotion?

That’s why the MG Cyberster caught our eye: It's a modern electric roadster with a proper roof-down, wind-in-your-hair vibe. It’s not perfect - the styling is... well, let's just say it's "divisive". But it’s close to what we need: an EV that not only goes fast, but also feels fun. It has a pulse.

We don't want a garage full of supercars like the Aspark Owl - those are impressive, but they're rare. We're talking about affordable, real-world fun machines. The kind you can take out on a Sunday just to enjoy the winding roads. We want EVs that don't just plug in, but plug you back into the joy of driving.

So here’s a message to the car industry:

We understand that EVs are important. But can we please have some soul back in our driving experience?

Give us hot hatches with character, quirky roadsters and electric coupes that make you smile just by looking at them. Bring back the love affair between driver and car.

We're not asking for much. Just something that makes us say, 'I want to drive this thing.' Not just, 'Well, I suppose it gets me from A to B.'
