Today (6 June 2025), Chrysler officially turns 100 years old, marking a century of automotive milestones - from the HEMI V8 to the invention of the minivan. However, as employees gathered at the Chrysler Technology Centre in Michigan for a huge birthday celebration, one question remained: What's next for the brand's shrinking range of vehicles?

An era of pioneering achievements.

  • 1924: The Chrysler Six was introduced, becoming America’s first mass-produced car with a high-compression engine.

  • 1983: Revolutionised family transport with the minivan, a segment it still leads with the Pacifica.

  • 2000s: Defined an era with the 300C and HEMI-powered muscle saloons.

However, today, Chrysler's US showrooms offer just one model: the Pacifica minivan.

At the anniversary event, 1,500 employees unveiled a time capsule in the form of a replica of founder Walter P. Chrysler’s toolbox. It was filled with historic badges, sketches and a letter to future stakeholders. CEO Chris Feuell praised the brand’s resilience, but offered few clues as to what the next chapter will bring. With its parent company, Stellantis, prioritising electric vehicles (EVs), will Chrysler’s second century bring a reinvention-or will the brand fade into nostalgia? For now, fans can relive the glory days at events this summer.
