Renault unveils Vision 4Rescue: An electric emergency vehicle based on

The French automaker has revealed a new version of its retro-inspired EV, designed for firefighters and emergency responders.
The Vision 4Rescue is a mobile command centre, developed with Software République, that turns the Renault 4 E-Tech into a vehicle with:
- Dual-motor AWD
- Integrated surveillance drone and rooftop comms antennas
- Custom storage for helmets, radios, and medical gear
- "PinPon" design cues (a nod to French emergency sirens)
- Fire-resistant recycled materials, including repurposed firefighter suit foam
With nearly 20 interconnected technology solutions, the 4Rescue project aims to standardise emergency response tools, which are a major source of frustration for first responders. The project builds on Renault’s 15-year partnership with fire services in 19 countries.
The vehicle is a functional prototype with a sliding desktop and dual screens that convert the cargo area into a real-time crisis hub. Its LED-lit 'RESCUE' branding ensures high visibility.
This follows hot on the heels of the 4 Savane Concept (a 4x4 take on the retro EV), signalling Renault’s intention to reimagine the 4 E-Tech for non-consumer use.
Would emergency services actually adopt this? Let us know in the comments!
