Ferrari unveils the SC40 a striking new one-off homage to the F40

Ferrari unveiled the SC40, the latest creation from its exclusive Special Projects program. This unique mid-rear-engine berlinetta is based on the architecture and powertrain of the formidable 296 GTB. However, its design is completely bespoke, crafted for a single client, and represents the pinnacle of the marque's personalization capabilities.
The SC40's name pays direct tribute to the legendary F40, and its design language echoes the iconic model's sharp, angular profile. However, under the direction of Flavio Manzoni and the Ferrari Styling Center, the goal was not mere replication. Instead, the SC40 establishes its own identity with its muscular, squared volumes; long, low nose; and dramatic, high fixed rear wing painted in a bespoke "SC40 White." The rear section is a technical showcase featuring smoked Lexan louvers that reveal the V6 engine and a centrally mounted, additively manufactured exhaust.

This industrial-inspired design theme continues along the car's flanks, which are defined by crisp vertical lines and a reinterpreted NACA duct. The SC40's front end presents a bold and assertive face with headlights integrated into a black housing that flows into a full-width lower air intake. The exterior is completed by exclusive wheels and subtle branding, including a discreet "SC40" script on the right side of the car.

Inside, the homage to the F40 continues with the extensive use of carbon-Kevlar, a material redeveloped for this project, which is featured on the steering wheel, dashboard, and footwells. The cabin is trimmed with a combination of charcoal Alcantara and red jacquard technical fabric. The SC40 logo is woven into the seats, adding a final exclusive touch. A styling buck of the one-of-a-kind SC40 will be displayed at the Ferrari Museum in Maranello.
