Nissan reveals all-electric Juke built in the UK for the European market #1

Nissan has unveiled the third-generation Juke, which is the first fully electric compact crossover in the range. Although the model was presented at Nissan's headquarters in Japan, it is primarily intended for the European market, where it will be manufactured at the Sunderland plant in the UK.

The new Juke retains the distinctive, unconventional design of its predecessor, but with an even more angular and sculpted appearance. It is based on the CMF-EV platform, which is also used for the Renault Megane E-Tech Electric, Scenic E-Tech Electric and Nissan's own Ariya crossover. The new model is expected to be slightly larger than the current version.

While Nissan has not yet released full technical specifications, the company has confirmed that the Juke EV will offer Vehicle-to-Grid (V2G) technology, enabling owners to feed power back into the electricity grid. It will join the upcoming third-generation Leaf in offering this feature.

The Sunderland plant, which already produces the Leaf, will begin trial production of the Juke EV in the coming weeks. Series production is scheduled for spring 2027, when the Juke EV will go on sale. In the meantime, the current hybrid Juke will remain available alongside the electric version.

The all-electric Juke forms part of Nissan's wider European electrification strategy, alongside the new Micra EV, the next Leaf, the Ariya and a future A-segment electric vehicle.
