Fiat shows new Grande Panda 4x4 concept with retro-inspired design

Fiat has introduced the new Grande Panda 4x4 concept, a design study that revisits the legacy of the original Panda 4x4 from the 1980s. Unveiled at the Grande Panda Hybrid media drive, the concept car blends contemporary styling and electric features with design cues from the classic model.

First released in 1983, the Fiat Panda 4x4 became renowned for its small size, off-road capabilities and practical design. This new concept honours this heritage while incorporating modern design and technology that aligns with current trends in environmentally friendly transportation.

The rich red 'Bordeaux' exterior and beige accents of the Grande Panda 4x4 Concept mirror the colour scheme of previous models, making it stand out.  Further highlights include roof-mounted lights and unique design elements that convey a feeling of freedom and outdoor adventure.

In terms of technology, FIAT has suggested that the concept could feature a state-of-the-art electrified rear axle to enhance its performance in off-road and urban environments.  However, this technology is still in the conceptual stage and neither the technical specifications nor the production plans have yet been confirmed.

This innovative yet heritage-inspired vehicle is referred to by FIAT as a "manifesto" for its future mobility strategy. While preserving the adaptability and personality that characterised the original Panda 4x4, the Grande Panda 4x4 concept represents the brand's ongoing exploration of electrified platforms.
