Caterham has unveiled a Miami Special Edition version of its lightweight Seven, which is set to debut at the upcoming Formula 1 race weekend in Miami. This track-only model is based on the Seven R and features a custom Aqua Blue paint job with vibrant pink and white decals.

Only 12 will be built, and 10 will be available for purchase after the race weekend through Caterham's U.S. dealer network. Each car features a numbered dashboard plaque and a second plaque in the engine bay signed by the two builders who hand-assembled the car at Caterham's UK factory.

The car is powered by a naturally aspirated 2.0-liter Ford Duratec engine that produces 210 horsepower at 7,600 rpm. Weighing just 560 kg, the Seven Miami Special Edition boasts a power-to-weight ratio of 375 bhp per ton. It accelerates from 0 to 60 mph in 3.8 seconds, reaching a top speed of 136 mph with a five-speed manual gearbox.

The exterior design features the iconic Miami script and a silhouette of the Miami International Autodrome circuit on the rear. Inside, the Miami logo is embroidered on the headrests. The car comes standard with a track day roll cage, lowered floors, and track suspension.

This special edition is primarily aimed at the US market, where Caterham has been expanding its presence with a new Miami dealership. It is unlikely that any of the 12 examples will make their way to Europe, but Caterham's core European customers can still appreciate the brand's continued ability to create striking, lightweight, driver-focused special editions that stand out in an era dominated by heavy, high-tech performance cars.
