Renault Revives an Icon with an Affordable, New Electric Twingo

Renault is bringing back its beloved city car, relaunching the Twingo as an affordable, modern, fully electric vehicle for the European market. Set to launch in early 2026, the Twingo E-Tech Electric aims to reinvigorate the shrinking A-segment with its combination of classic charm and zero-emission technology, starting at under €20,000.
A direct homage to the original 1992 Twingo, the new model features a friendly, recognizable face with playful design cues, such as protruding headlights and a black trim strip that recalls the first car's grille. Despite its compact exterior, the new Twingo is engineered for exceptional interior space and versatility. It boasts five doors, sliding rear seats, and a folding passenger seat to maximize its practicality for urban life.

Beneath its retro-inspired body, the Twingo E-Tech Electric is thoroughly modern. It is equipped with a 60 kW electric motor and an LFP battery, providing a projected range of up to 263 kilometers (163 miles) on the WLTP cycle. The car also introduces segment-first technology, including the OpenR Link system with built-in Google and a one-pedal driving function that simplifies city commutes.

By manufacturing the car in its Slovenian factory, Renault has been able to offer it at a competitive price without sacrificing modern features.
