Kia unveiled the all-new 2027 Seltos at the New York International Auto Show, introducing a significantly larger, second-generation compact SUV. The new model has grown in every dimension, with an extended wheelbase of 6 cm providing more rear legroom and cargo space.

The Seltos adopts design cues from Kia's flagship Telluride SUV, including amber daytime running lights and a boxier, more upright profile. Flush door handles and an optional panoramic sunroof give it a more premium feel. Inside, dual 12.3-inch screens form a panoramic digital cockpit that runs Kia's latest ccNC infotainment system with over-the-air updates.

The Seltos will be offered for the first time with three powertrain options: a 2.0-litre naturally aspirated four-cylinder engine, a 1.6-litre turbocharged engine producing an estimated 190 hp, and a new hybrid variant combining a 1.6-litre engine with an electric motor. The hybrid model features electric all-wheel drive (e-AWD), a first for a Kia hybrid SUV.

Ground clearance increases to 20.6 cm on certain versions and the Seltos retains its optional Multi-Mode AWD system. The 2.0-litre and 1.6T models are expected to go on sale in the United States in the second quarter of 2026, with the hybrid following later in the year.

It remains unclear whether the new Seltos will be offered in Europe. Kia Europe currently sells the smaller Stonic and the larger Sportage, and the first-generation Seltos was never officially launched in most European markets. The brand may instead focus its European efforts on the all-electric EV3 and EV9 models. For now, it seems that this Seltos is aimed squarely at North America, where the compact SUV segment remains highly competitive.
