The Type 01 is Jaguar's first new car since the brand stopped manufacturing vehicles, as it reinvented itself as an all-electric luxury brand. This four-door grand tourer marks the end of a long period of silence for the British manufacturer, which has scrapped its entire model range - including the electric I-Pace - and cancelled several models that were under development.

Built on a new Jaguar Electric Architecture, the Type 01 features an 850-volt system and a 118 kWh battery, delivering a claimed range of up to 650 km. It utilises a three-motor configuration comprising a 260 kW motor at the front and two 310 kW motors at the rear, producing up to 1,030 PS and 1,365 Nm together. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.1 seconds and from 100 to 180 km/h in 4.0 seconds. When charging at 350 kW, approximately 320 km of range can be added in just 13 minutes.
Measuring just over five metres in length, the Type 01 is not a traditional saloon but a 2+2 liftback featuring a long bonnet, frameless doors and a flat tailgate with a retractable spoiler. There is no rear window, but instead a camera-based ClearSight system displays the view on a screen where the rear-view mirror would normally be positioned.

Inside, Jaguar has moved away from leather, instead opting for wool-blend fabric and faux leather. A central spine divides the interior into four distinct zones and a 24-inch OLED screen is positioned in front of the driver. A panoramic soundbar with 38 speakers, developed in collaboration with Meridian, runs along the bottom of the windscreen.
The Type 01 was designed, developed and built in Halewood, United Kingdom. It will be available to order from early 2027, with an expected starting price of €140,000.
