Professional FAQs Breaqs Pro

This section provides answers to the most frequently asked questions from vehicle dealers and automotive professionals who use Breaqs Pro to buy and sell vehicles at online auctions across Europe.

Can I bid without VAT?

In many intra-EU business-to-business (B2B) transactions, VAT is handled under the reverse-charge mechanism, provided that both the buyer and the seller are VAT-registered and valid VAT identification numbers are supplied.

Whether VAT applies depends on the following:

  • the seller's status
  • the buyer's status
  • the country of origin and destination.

Before bidding, buyers are responsible for confirming the VAT treatment with the seller and their tax advisor.

What happens if a buyer does not pay?

Buyers are expected to complete payment within the timeframe defined in the auction terms and conditions. If a buyer fails to pay, the seller may have the right to:

  • cancel the transaction.
  • relist the vehicle.
  • report the incident to Breaqs.

Repeated non-payment may result in account restrictions or suspension. The exact consequences depend on the platform's rules and applicable terms.

How long do auctions run?

The duration of an auction depends on the format selected by the seller. Most auctions last for seven days.

The end time of the auction and any extension rules are clearly displayed on each listing.

Can I relist a vehicle if it does not sell?

Yes, if a vehicle does not reach its reserve price or is not sold, the seller can relist it. They may choose to:

  • adjust the reserve price
  • change the auction visibility to public or dealer-only.
  • add a 'Buy Now' option.

Relisting enables sellers to adapt their strategy based on market response.

Can dealers sell vehicles to private buyers?

Yes. Dealers can choose to list vehicles at public auctions, which are open to both private buyers and professional dealers, or restrict access to dealers only.

This decision is made by the seller for each individual listing.

Who can participate in dealer-only auctions?

Dealer-only auctions are exclusively accessible to verified Breaqs Pro users. Private buyers cannot view or bid in these auctions.

What types of vehicles are sold on Breaqs Pro?

Vehicles offered on Breaqs Pro usually include:

  • Dealer stock; and Trade-ins.
  • Ex-lease and ex-rental vehicles
  • Fleet and company cars
  • insurance and wholesale vehicles.

Availability varies depending on the seller and the active auctions.

Can I use Buy Now instead of bidding?

Some listings offer a 'Buy Now' option, which allows buyers to purchase a vehicle immediately at a fixed price. If this option is available, it is clearly indicated on the listing.

Who is responsible for vehicle condition and documentation?

It is the responsibility of sellers to provide accurate listing information and documentation. It is the buyer's responsibility to review listings carefully and conduct their own due diligence before bidding.

Breaqs does not inspect vehicles or guarantee their condition.

Does Breaqs handle vehicle transport?

Breaqs does not provide transport services. However, where available, we may assist by connecting buyers with professional transport partners or by facilitating transport coordination.

It is the buyer's responsibility to make transport arrangements.

Is Breaqs an auction house or dealer?

No, Breaqs solely operates as a technology platform that connects buyers and sellers. It does not act as an auction house, auctioneer, broker or seller.

All transactions take place directly between users.
